THE DAY THE EARTH LAUGHS: ARPIL 1ST 2009

Until the rainbow passes over the tears of the earth, let us gather all the energy to Okinawa from all over Japan and the world, to inspire festivals of joy and from here and now, from each of our hearts, let us declare Peace on Earth to the world.
------------

'The Day The Earth Laughs' Was The Official Opening Ceremony Of Celebration Earth

It was free! We just asked everyone to bring along your their call for peace and their loving earth spirit
-------------------------
Details of The Day

Shuri Castle Peace Ceremony

9:30 Shurei Gate
Raise the spirit of the day
Earth Jump
Peace Prayer
Performance for Peace (Dance, Songs)
The Four Meter Tall Walking Treeman

“Mitama Path” Celebration Earth Walk
11:00
Shuri Castle to Naha Port
Mitama means 'Pearl' it also means 'True Soul'. During the Ryukyu Kingdom Age, this was a very important official road from Naha Port to Shuri Castle. To reverse the history of the invasion by Satsuma Clan, used this path to take over the Shuri Castle and the Ryukyu Kingdom, a walk took place from Shuri Castle to Naha Port to sweep away the pain of war and to sweep in a peaceful and abundant age. This is our prayer to the world.

Earth Garden Peace Ceremony
16:00 The Earth Garden inside the Japanese Military Base
Peace Prayer, Tree Planting, Earth Jump
'The Earth Garden' was once taken away by the US military, then Japanese Defence Force, until it then was returned to its owner several years ago. This is our symbol of hope. Here we held a peace prayer ceremony amd tree planting.

Sabani Peace 2009 with Seven Gods of Happiness
17:16: On the low tide the Peace Sabani left Naha Port - to transform this history of the invasion of 1609 which began when an armed ship arrived.

At Naha Port, the treasure ship sailed to a Shinto shrine with the Seven Gods of Happiness who brought happiness and prosperity to the land of Okinawa.

Crowds cheered the Sabani Sailors as they make their way up the Naha River and the river flowed with flower confetti.

CELEBRATION EARTH - A LEAD EVENT OF THE CULTURE OF PEACE' INITIATIVE

Celebration Earth is a festival for peace that welcomes global cooperation and participation and seeks to practice the ‘Peace Day, Every Day’ spirit envisioned by the 'Culture of Peace' UN designated Peace Messenger Initiative and embodied by the ‘International Day of Peace.’ Through a joyful series of events, we wish to gift the world a model of international peace and inner peace.

Celebration Earth 2009 Lasts Until Sept 21st, The International Day Of Peace
Celebration Earth empowers by providing a framework and connection that can be useful to individuals and the global community. By promoting the positive actions and events of our member organisations and individuals through our various networks and communities, Celebration Earth enables them to deliver their message to the world.
Celebration Earth Is Free! We each create our own activity and call on others in the network for support. This support can come in many forms; participation, volunteering, promoting, you name it. Having a succesfull, group running on no money is empowering and enables people to see that all you need to succeed is the willpower. Each of us can make the world a better place - especially with a little help from some friends.
