EVENTS CAN BE BIG OR SMALL

Some are big, but most are small:

A hairdresser in Okinawa is doing EARTH CUTS, buy an EARTH CUT and she will plant a tree!

A teacher is doing Haiku´s for peace and nature.

A monk is visiting temples and sounding a drum of peace.

What can you come up with?

Once you know register it as an event here and we will add it to our Celebration Earth calendar.

YUJI MIYATA'S CELEBRATION WALK FROM KOREA TO LONDON: 2009 - 2012

On January 1st 2009 Yuji Miyata began walking from Korea to London, where he expects to be in time for the 2012 Olympic games. Yuji walked through the mainland of Korea, then around Jeju Island and on April 1st will complete his walk around Okinawa at the Official Opening Ceremony of Celebration Earth at Shuri Castle.

CELEBRATION EARTH

Celebration Earth, began on the island of Okinawa and has grown into a leading event of the 'Culture of Peace' Initiative activities for 2009.

Celebration Earth is inclusive and all aspects of society are invited to particpate. People throughouyt Japan and the world are growing increasingly concerned about the impact of war and the such environmental calamities as deforestation and global warming. Celebration Earth seeks to provide positive actions that can generate positive solutions and global energy to making the world a better place. Celebration Earth is non-political, non denominational, non confrontatational and ultimately downright friendly.

We recognise that to achieve peace, participation of all is necessary. It is not a case of us against them. It is all about being inclusive. To achieve a peaceful world all must be involved and we think that the best way to involve everyone is to draw attention to the one thing that we all need to survive. The Earth. Right now that Earth is in danger because of our activities. It's time to recognise the Earth, and to celebrate the life that it provides. Thinking of the Earth above and beyond ourselves will enable us to achieve the peace and planetary harmony that deep down we all desire. Within the Earth and Humanity there lies heaven or hell. It is time for us to make the choice. Do we want war, war, war until we all drop? Or do we want something else?

Celebration Earth is about spreading the messages of peace and earth preservation in ways that are fun, entertaining and inspirational.

What a Success!

The kids had a great week! We celebrated Earth Day with an entire week of activities that combined both Earth Day and National Volunteer Week. We made sure that what we were doing for the earth we were also doing for others. Our culminating activity was our Earth Jump. We "jumped for joy" for our thankfulness of a healthy earth and our healthy bodies. This was our way of combining Earth Week and our participation in Jump Rope for Heart. Jump Rope for Heart is a program with the American Heart As… Continue
